About Us |Â African Resource Center Minnesota
The African Community Resource Center (ACRC) is a nonprofit community based organization dedicated to improving the lives of African immigrants, refugees, and families throughout Minnesota. We exist to ensure that every individual and family has equitable access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to build healthy, stable, and thriving lives.

Our Mission
The African Community Resources Center advances the health and well-being of African immigrants, refugees, and families in Minnesota by connecting communities to essential resources, advocating for equitable access to services and opportunities, and creating pathways to economic security, health, education, civic engagement, and community leadership.
Through trusted partnerships, culturally responsive programs, community education, and strategic advocacy, we work to remove barriers, strengthen families, and ensure African communities have the resources, representation, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Our Vision

We envision a Minnesota where African communities are healthy, economically secure, civically engaged, culturally celebrated, and fully represented in the decisions that shape their lives.
We believe that when individuals and families have equitable access to resources, opportunities, and meaningful representation, they become empowered to build stronger futures for themselves while contributing to the social, economic, and cultural prosperity of Minnesota.
Our Values
Equity
We are committed to advancing fair and equitable access to resources, services, and opportunities for African communities, particularly those facing systemic barriers and historical inequities.
Inclusion
We cultivate welcoming, culturally responsive, and inclusive environments where diverse voices, languages, cultures, and lived experiences are respected, valued, and empowered.
Integrity
We lead with honesty, transparency, accountability, and respect in all of our relationships with community members, partners, funders, volunteers, and public institutions.
Community Empowerment
We believe lasting change begins within communities. We equip individuals and families with the knowledge, resources, leadership opportunities, and confidence to advocate for themselves and shape their own futures.
Justice
We advocate for policies, systems, and practices that promote fairness, eliminate disparities, protect human dignity, and expand opportunities for African immigrants, refugees, and their families.
Collaboration
We believe meaningful impact is achieved through partnership. We work alongside community organizations, government agencies, schools, healthcare providers, businesses, faith-based institutions, foundations, and other stakeholders to strengthen services and create sustainable change.
